Welcome to Week 9! As we approach the end of the quarter, we encourage all students to remain focused, attend school consistently, and complete their assignments. Our district’s Aim for 8 campaign encourages students to miss fewer than eight days of school throughout the year. Every day counts! Regular attendance helps students stay on track academically, build positive habits, and make the most of their learning opportunities.

As we enter Week Four of the school year, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for the positive start we have had at Wayne-Westland Innovative Academy. Each week, we have shared important reminders through our weekly flyers, and this newsletter provides an opportunity to expand on those messages and keep our WWIA community informed, connected, and engaged.
This week, we continue to emphasize the importance of attendance and student engagement through the District’s Aim for 8 initiative. Every day a student is present is another opportunity to learn, build relationships, earn credits, and move closer to their goals. We are also continuing our school wide cell phone expectations, which are designed to minimize distractions and create a focused learning environment where students can make the most of their instructional time.

- Arriving to school and to class on time
- Remaining in assigned classrooms during instructional time
- Continuing to demonstrate respectful and positive behavior toward peers and staff
- Staying engaged in learning and completing assignments on time
The final quarter of the year is an important opportunity for students to finish strong academically and continue contributing positively to our school community.

We are approaching the midpoint of Quarter 3, and this is an important time for students to assess their progress and recommit to strong academic habits. Consistent effort, focus, and follow-through during these weeks can make a significant difference in course outcomes.
We remind all students to prioritize being on time to class and reporting to their assigned locations throughout the school day. Being present, punctual, and in the correct area ensures that instructional time is used effectively and supports a positive learning environment for everyone.
To our seniors: the school year is moving quickly, and time is precious. Please stay mindful of graduation requirements, deadlines, and expectations. Every class period counts as you work toward finishing your senior year strong.

Thank you to everyone who attended the February 26, 2026, mandatory senior meeting. It was wonderful to see so many of you engaged and committed to supporting our seniors as they prepare for this significant milestone in their lives. For those who were unable to attend, I want to take this opportunity to share a few key points that were discussed.
Reminder: The Senior / Parent Meeting that was previously scheduled for February 12, 2026, has been rescheduled for February 26, 2026.
This is the same day as Parent Teacher Conferences.
The start time for the Senior / Parent Meeting is 5:00 pm.
Quarter 3 is well underway, and we appreciate the continued effort and commitment from our students and families. Week 3 is an important time to re-focus on routines, expectations, and goals as we continue building momentum toward academic success.

We are now in the final week of Quarter II, and we want to thank our students for their continued effort and growth throughout the quarter.
Final Exams – This Week
Please be reminded that final exams are scheduled for Thursday and Friday of this week.
Thursday and Friday are both half days of school.
Student attendance is critical on both days.
Final exams are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning, finish their courses strong, and earn academic credit. We encourage all students to come prepared, on time, and ready to do their best.
