Adams Latest News
As we approach Memorial Day weekend, we want to remind you that there will be no school on Friday, May 23, and Monday, May 26, 2025. This gives our students and staff an extended weekend to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends.
Looking ahead, Tuesday, May 27th is our Cedar Point trip day for eligible 8th graders!
Students need to arrive at Adams by 6:45 AM, as the coach bus will be leaving promptly at 7:00 AM. We plan to depart Cedar Point at 7:00 PM and expect to return to Adams around 9:00 PM.
We ask that families please be on time to pick up their children, as all staff and students have school the next morning.
We hope you all have a safe, restful, and meaningful Memorial Day weekend and look forward to an exciting trip on Tuesday!
Thank you,
Mrs. Bukosky and Mrs. Abbott
Dear Families,
We want to inform you that ski masks are prohibited at school. Students have been wearing them on their heads like hats, which has led to disruptions in our building and the learning environment. Unfortunately, this has turned into a game among students, chasing each other, trying to take the masks, and engaging in horseplay that can lead to frustration and conflict.
We ask that all students leave ski masks at home to keep our school environment safe and focused on learning. If a student brings or wears one to school, it will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this expectation at home. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you!
Mrs. Bukosky
AMS Principal

We want to let you know that NWEA testing is this week! This assessment is an important tool we use to measure your child’s academic growth in reading and math throughout the year. The results help us better understand each student’s strengths and areas for growth so we can provide the most effective support possible.
We want to let you know that NWEA testing is right around the corner! This assessment is an important tool we use to measure your child’s academic growth in reading and math throughout the year. The results help us better understand each student’s strengths and areas for growth so we can provide the most effective support possible.
Next week is a very important week for our 8th-grade students as they will be taking the PSAT 8. This assessment helps prepare students for future standardized testing and provides valuable data on their academic progress. It also gives us insight into how we can better support them as they transition to high school.
We are so lucky here at Adams, we have the Corewell Clinic here in our school. They are able to conduct Sports Physicals which is a HUGE WIN for our students.
The Corewell Clinic at Adams Middle School is a great local resource for any of your healthcare and mental health needs. We accept and bill all insurance, but you will never be turned away for not having insurance or inability to pay a copay. The clinic can also help you apply for Medicaid if you are uninsured. We provide healthcare services including physicals, sick visits, and immunizations to children ages 5 years to 21 years who live in the city of Wayne/Westland or attend school in the Wayne Westland School District.
During the Month of March and April, the Clinic will offer Vision and Hearing tests along with a risk assessment to all students. A consent form is needed if there isn't one on file already. Please see attached consent form. A consent can also be sent via email, please call the clinic at 734-728-2423 to have a Consent sent to you through DocuSign email. As a bonus, the school will raffle off 2 snack baskets for any new patients, not seen this school year, who come into the Clinic and have their Vision/Hearing checked during March and April.
For more information, please contact the Corewell Clinic at 734-728-2423.
We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable break! As a reminder, Marking Period 3 ends this Friday. Please log into Parent Connect to check your child’s grades and ensure they are on track. Directions for accessing Parent Connect are provided below. Report cards are no longer printed!
There is no school March 24-28, 2025. We will welcome our students back to school on:
Monday, March 31, 2025.
