I’d like to remind families that if there is ever a problem or concern involving another student, please reach out to me or your child’s teacher rather than addressing the situation directly with the student or their parents. We want to make sure that any conflicts or misunderstandings are handled appropriately and respectfully. When families try to resolve these situations on their own, it can often lead to misunderstandings or make things more difficult for everyone involved. Our goal is always to support all students and families in a positive way, and the best way to do that is by allowing the school to step in and help manage the situation.

I want to assure all of you that, despite what is happening in Lansing and Washington, D.C., regarding both budgets. As you likely know, the state Legislature passed a Continuation Budget that will keep the state government open through October 8, 2025. Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., lawmakers failed to reach a budget deal, and a federal shutdown is now in effect. While this means our funding remains in question, the Board of Education and district leaders thoughtfully allocated resources so there would be no disruption for our students.

What a great start to the school year! I have enjoyed visiting our schools and seeing our students engaged, motivated, and learning every day. It’s inspiring to see the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication demonstrated by our students and staff. Great things are happening across our district.
